Commencement Season Commences
Graduation Week is officially under way with a series of activities culminating in Commencement ceremonies for the College and the Eastman School next Sunday. The ceremony for the College Class of 2008 begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 18; the Eastman ceremony is at 11:15 a.m. on the 18th. Read more...

President Seligman Issues Diversity Report
In his second annual diversity report, President Seligman says the University is making "small, but measurable progress" in efforts to be a more diverse and welcoming community. "I am convinced that progress with respect to diversity and inclusiveness, like so much else at a large research University, does not occur instantly or quickly, but because of community support and consistent efforts over time. I have been pleased by the extent to which our University's commitment to diversity and inclusiveness now has been institutionalized throughout the University and by the number of new initiatives that have begun," says Seligman. Mark Ain Business Plan Competition
Aspiring student entrepreneurs will present their business models to a panel of judges on Wednesday, May 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Schlegel Hall. The winning student team receives $10,000 toward the implementation of their business plan. The event is free and open to the public.  Read more...

French Impressionism Lecture
Grace Seiberling, associate professor of art history, will give an illustrated lecture titled "French Impressionism, American Eyes" on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Art Gallery. Seiberling is an authority on 19th-century painting and photography and the author of numerous books, essays, and catalogs. The lecture is free with gallery admission. Read more...

Dining Services News
Seniors are invited to the Danforth Commencement Brunch on Sunday, May 18, following the ceremony. Tickets are now on sale in the Pit at the cashier stands. Declining, cash, credit, and URos accepted.

Dining Services summer hours begin on Monday, May 19. Wilson Commons, Starbucks, and Pura Vida will all be open throughout the summer. For a complete schedule, visit the Dining Web site at www.rochester.campusdish.com.
