An opportunity to invest in your future

Regardless of what retirement means to you now—or will mean when you get there—just about everybody worries about the same thing: financial security. However, few people enjoy a comfortable retirement by accident. It takes careful thought and planning, based on one’s own situation.

Even small amounts of money invested regularly over your career can provide a significant financial resource at retirement.

Retirement Program Changes Coming in July

The University Retirement Program has announced several enhancements intended to provide participants with the investment options, services and tools necessary to reach their retirement savings goals. On behalf of the University, TIAA, our recordkeeper will implement all of the updates by July 1, 2019.

A mail or email communication outlining these changes was distributed to all plan participants in late May. There is no required action from participants unless they want to make changes to their account. Review the communication.

Highlights include:

  • Recordkeeping and administrative fees
  • Plan servicing credit
  • Hardship withdrawal changes
  • University’s direct contribution calculation formula for 2019
  • Annual notices
