Retirement Benefits - Hired before 1/1/96
FOR REGULAR FACULTY AND STAFF WHO RETIRE ON OR AFTER 1/1/96 WHOSE
MOST RECENT DATE OF HIRE OR REHIRE IS BEFORE 1/1/96,
BUT WHO WERE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RETIRE AS OF 1/1/96
To be eligible to receive Post-Retirement Benefits under this
policy you must satisfy the following requirements:
- Prior to January 1, 1996, you were Hired or Rehired into a position that allowed you to receive the full range of University Benefit Plans;
- You remain in Continuous Employment in a benefits-eligible position until you Retire; and
- When you Retire you are at least age 55 and have completed at least 10 years of service (either at the University of Rochester or another higher educational institution*).
*To receive prior service credit, a Service Credit Form for Post-Retirement Benefits (4R) must be completed.
FOR REGULAR FACULTY AND STAFF WHO RETIRE ON OR AFTER 7/1/96,
WHO WERE ELIGIBLE TO RETIRE AS OF 1/1/96, BUT WERE NOT RETIRED AS OF 6/3/96
To be eligible to receive Post-Retirement Benefits under this policy you
must satisfy the following requirements:

On January 1, 1996 you were:
- A Regular Full-Time or Part-Time member of the faculty or staff; and
- Age 55 or over; and
- you had 10 or more years of cumulative service*; and
- You did not Retire on or before June 30, 1996
- You remain in Continuous Employment in a benefits-eligible position until you reach age 55
*To receive prior service credit, a Service Credit Form for Post-Retirement Benefits (3R) must be completed.
