{"id":254266,"date":"2007-08-13T14:01:59","date_gmt":"2007-08-13T14:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2007\/08\/13\/espresso-book-machine-2\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T17:38:51","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T17:38:51","slug":"espresso-book-machine-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2007\/08\/13\/espresso-book-machine-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Espresso Book Machine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fadetheory.com\/?p=1997\">Fade Theory<\/a> drew my attention to this promotional video for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ondemandbooks.com\/\">On Demand Books<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/JMFh5axDKWU\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/JMFh5axDKWU\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not the most exciting of pitches, but it&#8217;s interesting after talking about it for the past few weeks to actually see this thing in action. . . . And &#8220;this thing&#8221; might be the best way to describe it. Much more of a Frankenstein machine&#8212;slap a printer on at one end, a paper cutter at the other&#8212;than an &#8220;ATM-like book machine.&#8221; Not to say it isn&#8217;t cool, but in the age of iPhones and uber-hip digital gadgets, I think On Demand Books is going to have to ramp up it&#8217;s aesthetic appeal. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fade Theory drew my attention to this promotional video for On Demand Books: It&#8217;s not the most exciting of pitches, but it&#8217;s interesting after talking about it for the past few weeks to actually see this thing in action. . . .
