As reported by Publishers Weekly<\/i><\/a>, DailyLit<\/a> has both Perseus Books Group and Globe Pequot to its pay service, which will be launching later this fall.<\/p>\n

Of all the technological innovations impacting the book industry—Espresso Book Machine, Sony’s eReader—this is the one I find most appealing. As a reader, you can pick out a book (right now there are about 500 public domain books available) that you want to read, and DailyLit will send you an “installment” by e-mail or RSS<\/span> feed on a regular basis. (Readers can choose from daily, MWF<\/span>, or weekdays only options.) <\/p>\n

It’s simple, easy, and perfect for our Internets-loving, constantly refreshing, RSS-addicted, contemporary lifestyle. I think this will appeal to people “too busy” to pick up a book, or those that spend endless hours online reading articles, e-mails, etc. And people generally seem to like the serial format, and reading in small chunks makes reading Dead Souls<\/i> or Don Quixote<\/i> that much more palatable. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
