G. that is, not Alice) and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/?s=tag&#38;t=sebald\">couple critical books<\/a> about his work;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>E. J. reviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=265\">Dai Vaughan&#8217;s<\/a> latest;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=249\">Bulgakov<\/a> got some nice attention in <i>The Guardian<\/i> this week;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hesperuspress.com\/magazine\/default.asp\">Hesperus magazine<\/a> came out, as did the second part of the Summer issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raintaxi.com\/online\/2007summer\/index.shtml;\">Rain Taxi<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=255\">NASCAR<\/a> and the 27% of Americans who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=258\">don&#8217;t read books<\/a> made me cry;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And, of course, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=246\">LongPen<\/a> made its regular weekly appearance;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Highlights from the past week: We ran a bit of the New York Times review of Peter Handke&#8217;s latest book, which wasn&#8217;t nearly as interesting as the fiction roundup NPR featured Thomas Bernhard&#8217;s The Loser as a You Must Read This pick; We found some interesting info about a predecessor to Sebald (W.
