She recently completed an excerpt of Mathias Enard&#8217;s <em>Zone<\/em> (which I have in my hands right now), which is becoming one of the most hyped French books since <em>The Kindly Ones.<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>What attracts you to the craft of translation?<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I love reading, and I think translating is the truest form<br \/>\nof reading. People are always asking me if I write my \u2018own\u2019<br \/>\nwork. I find it hard to convey to them that I feel no need<br \/>\nto write\u2014I would much rather \u2018be\u2019 a lot of different authors by translating them.
