{"id":271106,"date":"2009-05-14T14:14:09","date_gmt":"2009-05-14T14:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2009\/05\/14\/salzburg-global-seminar-the-findings\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T17:19:58","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T17:19:58","slug":"salzburg-global-seminar-the-findings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2009\/05\/14\/salzburg-global-seminar-the-findings\/","title":{"rendered":"Salzburg Global Seminar: The Findings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I last wrote about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/?s=tag&amp;t=salzburg-global-seminars\">Salzburg Global Seminar on Translation,<\/a> but just today the final summary and recommendations was released and mailed out to a number of &#8220;shareholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?s=file_download&#38;id=46\">here<\/a> for a pdf version of the final report, which includes recommendations in four areas: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How is it possible to influence the publishing world?<\/li>\n<li>How can we make the case for public and private sector funding?<\/li>\n<li>What is the role of literary translation in the educational process?<\/li>\n<li>What can translators and their associations do to promote literary translation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Susanna Seidl-Fox, Michelle Gross, and Daniel Hahn did a fantastic job putting this all together and distributing it to all the right people.
