{"id":289976,"date":"2012-04-16T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2012-04-16T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2012\/04\/16\/the-new-standard-for-publishers-re-acknowledging-the-translator\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:11:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T16:11:41","slug":"the-new-standard-for-publishers-re-acknowledging-the-translator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2012\/04\/16\/the-new-standard-for-publishers-re-acknowledging-the-translator\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Standard for Publishers Re: Acknowledging the Translator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So last month, Uday Prakash&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/uwap.uwa.edu.au\/books-and-authors\/book\/the-walls-of-delhi\/\"><em>The Walls of Delhi<\/em><\/a> was published by the University of Western Australia Press in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=2371\">Jason Grunebaum&#8217;s<\/a> translation. <\/p>\n<p>At some point, we&#8217;ll run a review of this book, but for now, I just wanted to point out <span class=\"caps\">UWAP<\/span>&#8217;s conscientious approach to highlighting the fact that this book is a translation&#8212;an approach that truly sets a new standard for all publishers to follow.<\/p>\n<p>First off, here&#8217;s the front cover. Note that Jason&#8217;s name is <em>equally as large<\/em> as both the title and the author. That in and of itself is pretty impressive. <\/p>\n<p><txp_image id=\"889\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"caps\">BUT<\/span>, what&#8217;s really impressive is the spine:<\/p>\n<p><txp_image id=\"890\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And there you are.
