Taking this as a sign of meant-to-be, I bought it, and promptly placed it on my to-read shelf. This was two years ago. But I&#8217;ve been itching to get to it since! And the new editions from <span class=\"caps\">FSG<\/span> have some pretty awesome looking covers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a bit of Vincent&#8217;s review:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>The Whispering Muse<\/em>, one of three books by Icelandic writer Sj\u00f3n just published in North America, is nothing if not inventive. Stories within stories, shifting narration, leaps in time, and characters who transform from men to birds and back again\u2014you\u2019ve seen this sort of thing before in Ovid, Bulgakov, Kafka, and Rushdie to name a few.
