{"id":297456,"date":"2014-04-08T19:24:45","date_gmt":"2014-04-08T19:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2014\/04\/08\/btba-wins-the-lbf-international-book-industry-excellence-award\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T14:39:26","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T14:39:26","slug":"btba-wins-the-lbf-international-book-industry-excellence-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2014\/04\/08\/btba-wins-the-lbf-international-book-industry-excellence-award\/","title":{"rendered":"BTBA Wins the LBF International Book Industry Excellence Award!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As meta as it may be for an award to win an award, I&#8217;m incredibly excited that the Best Translated Book Awards won the inaugural &#8220;International Literary Translation Initiative Award&#8221; at today&#8217;s London Book Fair Book Industry Excellence awards ceremony. <\/p>\n<p>I know it&#8217;s hokey, but I&#8217;ve been hoping for years that some part of Open Letter&#8212;one of our books, the press itself, etc.&#8212;would win something like this. I feel like everyone involved with the press does such great work, and really deserve some extra recognition. Especially all the judges that have worked on the <span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> over the past years, reading hundreds of books and helping promote so many great works of literature in translation. <\/p>\n<p>Also, Amazon deserves a shout-out for helping the <span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> move to the next level.
