{"id":305446,"date":"2017-03-21T17:07:21","date_gmt":"2017-03-21T17:07:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2017\/03\/21\/five-new-clues-about-the-2017-btba-fiction-longlist-day-two\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T14:39:13","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T14:39:13","slug":"five-new-clues-about-the-2017-btba-fiction-longlist-day-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2017\/03\/21\/five-new-clues-about-the-2017-btba-fiction-longlist-day-two\/","title":{"rendered":"Five New Clues about the 2017 BTBA Fiction Longlist [Day Two]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/index.php?id=18712\">yesterday&#8217;s post<\/a> about the upcoming Best Transated Book Award longlist announcement, I thought I&#8217;d give you some more clues, all centering around &#8220;new&#8221; additions to the &#8220;<span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>1) There are five presses with a book on the <span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> longlist for the first time ever;<\/p>\n<p>2) Of the twenty-five translators on the list, sixteen of them are appearing here for the first time ever; and,<\/p>\n<p>3) Only five of the authors have appeared on <span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> longlists in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Although it&#8217;s true that there a lot of the <span class=\"caps\">BTBA<\/span> favorite presses have made it again, it is great to see some new organizations getting recognized for their contributions to the promotion and discussion of international literature.
