For several months, training has been offered to prepare you for the transition to our new financial system and we continue to offer training such as; UR Financials eLearning, Forms video training and instructor led reporting classes with training materials included.
To further enhance your learning experience after you have experience on UR Financials (Workday), we are offering two types of workshops post go live, January 5th. These include Reporting Workshops and Tools Workshops.
If you feel you need more hands on support after you explore your financial data in the production environment and practice the recommended self support suggestions, sign up for one of these sessions. Choose the workshop that meets your needs.
This two (2) hour Excel for UR Financials class is offered to supplement your UR Financials Reporting skills. Please review the course outline to determine if this class is appropriate for you. If so, you must complete all the prerequisites before taking the class. Please visit the Sign Up page for complete details.
Seating is limited with ONLY be 250 seats offered for this class. When registering, ONLY take one seat per person as it’s first come first serve.
NOTE: A 48 hour cancelation policy is in place. If you cancel last minute, or do not show, you are taking a seat from another.

The UR Financials (Workday) application will be going live and available to trained users on January 5, 2015. There are approximately 950 users that need to attend a report training class in order to be able to run financial reports. The list of individuals to be trained is posted on the Training Page. If you are one of the individuals that need to attend training, please Sign Up for one of the 50 class events as soon as possible. There are a limited number of seats available per class and in total. Once registered, please attend the class. Attendance is mandatory for individuals to gain access to the production environment.

If you have not taken the eLearning course (and certification) “Introduction to UR Financials”, please do so. As a reminder, you must take this course and pass the certification before attending any instructor led class.

Rochester Tech Park Training Center will be now available for UR Financials classes starting in December. All Non-Company Level Reporting classes delivered in December through February will be held at this new training location in Gates.

- Currently have COGNOS access, or completed a COGNOS/Workday request form at http://www.rochester.edu/its/acs/dw_cognos_access_form.html
- Completing the 45 minute Introduction to UR Financials eLearning course in Blackboard. Details on how to locate eLearning are found on UR Financials
- Passing the required Introduction to UR Financials assessment (test) with a grade of 80% or higher. Details on how to locate the assessment are found on UR Financials
- Submitting your approved COGNOS Security Verification report with appropriate signatures to your Divisional Finance lead. Details can be found on UR Financials
Recent Change: Please know that November classes ONLY will be at 315 Science Parkway with FREE/Onsite Parking. No shuttle service will be needed, or provided.

The remaining class offerings have been added to the Non-Company Level Reporting class for the months of January and February, 2015. Sign Up now for a session that is right for you. Once on the signup page you will need to scroll down towards the bottom of the page to see the additional dates offered. Remember to update your personal calendars with the date and time you have selected.
To determine if you have selected the right session for your needs in the new system – either Basics or Basics+ Advanced reporting, refer to the Non-Company Level Reporting course outline. As a suggestion, if you run monthly ledger reports in COGNOS for only a few FRS accounts, we recommend that you take only the Basic section. If you support a department or multiple departments and perform detailed financial analysis, we recommend that you take the Advanced class which includes the Basic section.
Finally, please notice the new location for the December through February, 2015 classes: Rochester Technology Park Building 1, Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY with free parking onsite.

You have taken the Introduction to UR Financials eLearning course and passed the required associated assessment. Now it’s time to register for the Non-Company Level Reporting instructor-led training class.
Completing the Introduction to UR Financials eLearning course and a passing the required associated assessment with a grade of 80% is required prior to registering for this class.
When you are ready to register you will notice two offerings of the Non-Company Level Reporting class; a basic and advance session. To determine the registration option that is best for you, please review the Non-Company Level Reporting course outline.
There are several offerings, but you need only attend one, so Sign-Up for an class option that is most convenient for you.
Classes will be conducted at 315 Science Parkway, Building C for November classes only. This location no longer uses shuttle service due to the transition to their new facility next month. Parking is now free and onsite at this location. Classes from December to February will be held at Rochester Tech Park.

In August the Introduction to UR Financials eLearning was released early for your casual review. As the system implementation date approaches, the required assessment has now been activated to begin your UR Financials certification. An 80% grade is necessary to certify and you have two attempts to achieve this. Remember, a passing grade is a required prerequisite for all instructor led class registrations.
Later this month there will be an announcement on the registration process for all classes. If you are unsure of your class assignments, please refer to the User Training List.
If you are ready to take this 10 question assessment, or would like to retake the eLearning course, please logon to Blackboard using your URMC AD accounts if a URMC employee, or your HRMS NetID and password and follow the steps below:
- After logging into Blackboard, Go to the UR Course Outline section of Blackboard and select the UR Financials Training link
- There are 2 folders listed. Select the Introduction to UR Financials (eLearning) folder link
- Within this folder, there are two (2) items listed. Select either the Introduction to UR Financials eLearning course link to begin the 45 minute course, or select the Introduction to UR Financials (eLearning Assessment) link to take the test.
Tip: If you are not familiar with using the Blackboard system, please know that links do not appear blue and underlined. To access folders, courses, tests, etc., please select the folder or test name.
