We oversee the University of Rochester’s 12+ million square foot real estate portfolio spanning multiple campuses, 700 acres of land, and 2+ million square feet of off-site facilities throughout the Rochester region.

We handle all property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and property management, alongside portfolio-level financial oversight across the University. As the central resource for real estate services, we partner with clinical, research, and academic departments to ensure all properties align with the University’s standards and strategic vision.

Our team is your first point of contact for all University real estate matters, including the negotiation of lease and real estate deal terms, as well as the management of all off-campus properties.

Real Estate Management

 

The Real Estate Management team is charged with the overall strategy for off-campus owned and leased properties. The team is responsible for:

  • Facilitating comprehensive real estate advisory and consultation services, including market surveys, land and real property valuations, and location analyses
  • Strategic acquisitions and dispositions of real property assets, including due diligence and evaluation and acceptance of gifts of real estate
  • Evaluation, negotiation, and execution of new leases, renewals, and terminations

Property Management

 

The Property Management team manages and maintains the University’s real estate portfolio across Rochester and surrounding areas in New York State, including management of all off-campus medical offices, College Town, and retail spaces within Eastman School of Music and the Memorial Art Gallery. The team offers comprehensive solutions, including:

  • Coordinating appropriate maintenance and repairs of properties in collaboration with the University’s Facilities team and outside vendors
  • Developing and managing landlord-tenant relations
  • Ensuring legal and contractual compliance, including compliance with leases and general tax and insurance requirements
  • Providing property and portfolio-level financial management, including budgeting and expense management and reconciliations
