Designed by famous architect I. M. Pei, Wilson Commons celebrated its birthday last month. Over the years, this iconic student union has become a centerpiece of campus life—a place to study, eat, dance, drink coffee (and, at one time, beer), get a haircut, play billiards or violin, and publish a weekly newspaper. It has even served as the stage for student protests. At its 40th anniversary in 2016, the University honored this exceptional structure.
