Project updates<\/h1>\n

Structural steel taking shape<\/span><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” use_row_as_full_screen_section_slide=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]It\u2019s hard to miss the visible signs of our expanded Emergency Department and in-patient pavilion. Driving past, you can now see the framework for three floors rising up from the ground. Despite winter conditions, crews are working hard to meet critical project milestones.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the latest construction updates:[\/vc_column_text]

<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Erection of structural steel and decking are progressing rapidly, moving northward toward Elmwood Avenue.<\/li>\n
  • Concrete for the basement level has been completed.<\/li>\n
  • Steel is going around the canopy at the Emergency Department entrance for protection while construction continues around it.<\/li>\n
  • Underground chilled water has been installed, and heat and steam utility installation is underway.<\/li>\n
  • A permanent backup generator facility is being built south of Eastman Dental.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/div>[vc_column_text]On December 30, hospital and University leaders walked through with the project team to see the latest progress and thank them for their ongoing work.<\/p>\n

    Looking ahead, a bright spot is knowing that the weather will be less of a factor by this time next year, as Kathy Parrinello, Strong\u2019s CEO noted, “This is the last winter we have to worry about because next winter we’ll be indoors!\u201d<\/p>\n
