Strong Expansion Project moves into the summer: Here\u2019s what\u2019s new<\/span><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” use_row_as_full_screen_section_slide=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]After a long winter and rainy spring, crews continue work on the Strong Expansion Project this summer. New steel and concrete are giving shape to the future of a larger, more modern space to treat patients and help our community.<\/p>\n

The project team has begun operational readiness meetings to work together with hospital staff in anticipation of necessary relocations before, during, and after new construction takes place. Workgroups are being formed with leaders in clinical areas to help prepare teams for mobilization and reduce disruption to patients.<\/p>\n

Here are a few recent project highlights: <\/strong>[\/vc_column_text]

<\/p>\n

  • Steel has been erected for the first seven floors and should be completed over the summer. Concrete slabs have been poured up through the fourth floor. Mechanical equipment and utilities are being installed in the basement. Framing for the ground floor has begun.   • The generator facility, which will house backup generators, is being installed. Emergency generators arrived and were hoisted into place. These appliances will provide emergency power to the emergency department and new tower.<\/li>\n
  • The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Department Program (CPEP) has a new laundry room and a toilet room. These updates are part of a sequence of modifications within the existing hospital needed to construct the connections to the new tower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
