Joined by Memorial Art Gallery Director, Jonathan Binstock, guests will enjoy a tour of The American Art Museum & The National Portrait Gallery, housed within the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Reynolds Center is one of Washington’s oldest public buildings and is home to the largest collections of American art in the world showcasing works from major masters such as Homer, Sargent, Hassam, Cassatt, and O’Keeffe to name a few. As the nation’s only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House, the “America’s Presidents” exhibition lies at the heart of the Portrait Gallery’s mission to tell the country’s history through the individuals who have shaped it.

To connect the visit with the University’s 19th Amendment Collaborative, we will visit the American Origins Exhibit where guests will have a chance to view the Susan B. Anthony bronze sculpture. Focusing on other significant women in history, the tour will see highlights in the Women of Progress: Early Camera Portraits exhibit and the Storied Women of the Civil War Era exhibit.

The group will enjoy lunch at Succotash Restaurant, a progressive perspective of classic Southern favorites. James Beard Award winner, Chef Edward Lee, brings his Korean roots and Southern repertoire to a soulful Southern menu.
