Volunteer activities:<\/strong> Boston Regional Cabinet member, Hajim Dean’s Advisory Committee member, Chair of the Boston Regional Campaign, former AS&E National Council member<\/p>\n Why I volunteer at U of R:<\/strong> I’m inspired by the strong sense of community and connection that U of R has created for its students, faculty and alumni. There’s a personal approach here that you’re more likely to find at a smaller college; yet the school has the abundant resources of a major research institution. It’s a special place to develop your intellect and character and prepare you for lifelong learning.<\/p>\n Why I continue to volunteer:<\/strong> When I first engaged as an alum, I wondered, “Will they listen? Will my efforts as a volunteer have an impact? Will it make a difference?” I am pleased to say that the answers were (and continue to be), “Yes. Yes. And Yes!”<\/p>\n Most meaningful volunteer experience:<\/strong> My work on the Dean’s Advisory Council is very rewarding. We provide the type of sounding board and perspective that only alumni and trusted outsiders can bring to an institution.
