Gifts strengthened the Eastman Institute\u2019s mission as a research institute by supporting breakthrough discoveries in oral infectious diseases, salivary gland biology, craniofacial development, and community-based disease prevention.<\/p>\n
More 140,000 patient visits were provided, of which 70 percent were to underserved populations, patients with special needs, and those with complex medical conditions. Additionally, there were more than 30,000 visits to children in rural and urban elementary schools and day care centers and to fixed adult community sites.<\/p>\n
More of those with the greatest need received care because of a new SMILEmobile and innovations in teledentistry that contribute to the Eastman Institute\u2019s effort to expand its reach.<\/p>\n
