It also requires the skills and attributes that can inspire others and improve lives\u2014from children and teens to adult learners returning to the learning environment.<\/p>\n

The Warner School provides students with opportunities to become exceptional leaders in education. Four centers are at the heart of Warner\u2019s work. Warner\u2019s four centers are dedicated to community engagement, scholarship, advocacy, and leadership. The centers partner with schools and organizations to help make them\u2014and the lives of those they serve\u2014better.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” use_row_as_full_screen_section_slide=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1562093211753{padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”]\"\"A restorative approach to urban education is one key factor in East\u2019s success\u2014an approach documented and embraced by CUES<\/a> <\/strong>that focuses on improving relationships by fostering a responsive and compassionate environment. \u201cIf we show kids we care, they learn better and they are happier,\u201d says Michelle Garcia, a social worker in East\u2019s Lower School. Glerizbeth \u201cBeth\u201d Sanchez, a senior scholar in East\u2019s Upper School, agrees and underscores how it helps students like her learn.<\/p>\n

TOUR makes inclusive college experiences possible for 18\u201321-year olds with intellectual disabilities. As an academic coach with the program, Shareef Alwarasneh \u201919 has seen how valuable this experience can be for all involved. \u201cCoaching teaches compassion and shows what it\u2019s like to be in someone else\u2019s shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He incorporates technology into his lesson plans to help his students grasp concepts and get excited about learning. \u201cWith a technology-based lesson, I can put a student in an augmented or virtual reality setting where they could be in a historic place or on a battlefield. They experience learning in a new and very rich way.\u201d<\/p>\n
