Areas of impact to support your class gift campaign!

A gift to any area of the University of Rochester, the School of Medicine and Dentistry, the Medical Center or its affiliates counts toward your class totals. A gift to the School of Medicine and Dentistry Annual Fund is always appreciated, but here is a list for some ideas for other areas that you can support.

Whipple Society

Donors who make a gift in the amount of $1,500 or more, in support of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, between July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016, will be a recognized at this year’s Campaign-end Celebration/Whipple Society Dinner on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

Whipple Society members who commit to a five-year unrestricted pledge of $1,500 or more, in support of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, are also recognized as George Eastman Circle members. Learn more about the George Eastman Circle here.

School of Medicine and Dentistry Class Funds:

Class of 1961 School of Medicine and Dentistry Scholarship Fund

This fund was established with gifts from members of the Class of 1961 in honor of their 45th reunion.  The purpose of the fund is to provide support for a need-based scholarship for a medical student.

Class of 1966 School of Medicine and Dentistry Scholarship Fund

This fund was established with gifts from members of the School of Medicine and Dentistry Class of 1966. This fund supports scholarship(s) at the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Class of 1976 Prize Fund

This fund was established in 1987 with gifts from the Class of 1976. The fund's purpose is to fund an annual prize to an outstanding graduating medical student.

Class of 1996 Prize Fund - School of Medicine and Dentistry

This fund is made possible by gifts and proceeds earned through various fundraising activities by the Medical School's graduating class of 1996. The purpose of the fund is to recognize a student for exemplary community service at the beginning of his/her fourth year. This award will be made from 25%-50% of the fund's income each year with the rest being re-invested in the fund.  The student recipient(s) will be determined each year by a selection committee comprised of the Sr. Assoc. Dean for Medical Education, Assoc. Dean for Student Affairs, an alumnus of the class of '96 and others to be decided at the discretion of the deans.
