  • Close to 100 letters written by Susan B. Anthony were acquired. The letters, written from Anthony to her colleague and dear friend Rachel Foster Avery, add to a rich collection of rare and unique 19th century manuscripts, which now include a total of 300 letters by Anthony.
  • The Art and Music Library equipped two group study rooms with collaborative spaces that include comfortable seating, whiteboards, media players, gaming systems, and 3D blu-ray and surround sound for specialized course work.
  • In depth user research was completed to develop the programs and learning space needs for the iZone, a pre-incubator for students to explore their ideas for social, economic, cultural and community benefit, and the Carlson Student Research Space, which helps students build the foundational skills, knowledge, and network necessary to bridge curriculum-based and independent, faculty-directed research.
  • The Libraries joined HathiTrust, a worldwide consortium that preserves and provides access to the cultural record in digital form. This membership gives University students, faculty and staff access to more than five million items that pre-date 1923, essentially doubling the size of the Libraries' collection.
