Department of Mechanical Engineering
The University of Rochester invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Applicants at the assistant professor level are preferred, but exceptional candidates at all ranks will be considered.
Applicants doing research in the areas of materials science and engineering, mechanics and kinematics, design, and/or manufacturing are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong potential for, and commitment to, establishing an independent, extramurally funded research program and to teaching innovative graduate and undergraduate courses. The University of Rochester offers the opportunity to contribute to an exceptionally rich and highly collaborative research environment including, as examples, the multidisciplinary Materials Science Program, the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation, the Center for Freeform Optics, and the Center for Integrated Research and Computing.
