Our mission is to transform lives through educational opportunity. Through a combination of services and programs we support first-generation, low-income, and students of color toward graduation and beyond.

The Kearns Scholars Program is the gateway to our research programs and services. Our programs include the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, and NSF REU Programs.

Some of our services include:

Become a Kearns Scholar

To become a Kearns Scholar, enroll in our one-credit orientation course CASC 145: Navigating the Academy. This eight-week course provides an opportunity for first-generation college students to build academic, leadership and social skills within a community of scholars. Students participate in discussions regarding pressing issues on campus, transitioning to college, exploring research opportunities, managing study time, and career building.

Please see our 1st Gen Society and First-Gen Students and Families page for more information.
