Transfer Student Welcome Weeks
Fall Schedule
We look forward to welcoming you to campus in August! Fall Welcome Week is required for all transfer students, regardless of whether you are living on- or off-campus.
Registration
You are required to register for Fall 2022 Welcome Week by Friday, July 29 at the latest. When completing your form, make sure to add all guests who will be attending family Welcome Week events on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday, so they can be added to your registration.
Welcome Week App
The Welcome Week app allows you to find a full listing of Fall Welcome Week events and create your own schedule. The app also features virtual and campus resources, recommendations and tips from your Orientation Leaders, and arrival information.

- Convocation (required for all students): This ceremony signals the start of your academic career at the University. It provides the opportunity for University leadership, faculty, and staff to formally welcome you to the College.

- Welcome Week Expo (required for all students): Explore resources and student services from across campus at this beloved Welcome Week event. Representatives from various University offices and centers will be available to answer your questions and help you feel informed as you begin your first semester.
Evening & Late Night

- Transfer Student Welcome Dinner (required for all transfer students): Get to know your fellow transfer students over this special dinner, followed by cookie decorating. You'll also get the chance to sign your official class roll at this event before heading to the Candlelight Ceremony with your new friends.
- Candlelight Ceremony (required for all students): This cherished Welcome Week tradition takes place on the Eastman Quad in candlelight, where you'll celebrate the beginning of your lifelong connection with the University and learn about its symbols, traditions, and history.

- Academic Open House (required for all students): Representatives from all academic departments will be at the open house to answer your questions regarding courses, majors, minors, and placement.

- One Community (required for all students): Hosted by the Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center, this program highlights the stories and experiences of current students to explore the way the University of Rochester community is shaped by all of our intersecting identities.
