Programs with Minors
Any student organization hosting a program with minors should inform with their advisor and register the event on the Campus Community Connection (CCC).
If UR students will be hosting or attending an event off-campus where there are minors, but parents/school teachers are present, no forms are needed unless the sponsoring agency requires them. If parent/school teachers are not present University personnel will assume custody of minors and background checks must be conducted.
If UR students will be working with minors on campus and the minors' parents/school teachers will be present, UR students must file the event with Legal Counsel. To do so, please contact Kristine Seewagen at email@example.com
If UR students will be working with minors on campus and the minors' parents/school teachers will not be present, UR students must complete various background checks. All participating members must complete the following forms two weeks in advance.
- Self-Disclosure Form
- Criminal Background Authorization
- RBA Background Check
- Background Check Cover Letter for Programs with Minors (Event Manager ONLY)
As the cover letter form indicates, UR students serving as event managers must provide a full roster of all UR student participants with the cover letter. Also, event managers must compile the forms for all participants before mailing them to the background check processing office.
