$3 million gift establishes entrepreneurship professorship at Simon
A $3 million endowed gift from Jackie Sperandio establishes the Robert Sperandio Professorship in Entrepreneurship at Simon Business School. For 40 years, Robert (Bob) ran Sporting Dog Specialties, a Rochester-based direct mail company that PetSmart purchased in 1997. Jackie Sperando’s gift—a tribute to her late husband—will help Simon recruit and retain top-tier faculty, bolster its position as a leader in entrepreneurial education, and cultivate an innovative mindset among tomorrow’s business leaders.

Share input on the Office for Global Engagement institutional strategic plan
Input is being sought on an institutional strategic plan for the Office for Global Engagement, which will define the office’s priorities and goals for the next several years. Cross-functional committees have identified opportunities, challenges, and subsequent recommendations. They are now sharing their work to date, comprised of white papers on each major focus area, and are requesting feedback.
Due to interdependencies, many of the recommendations being brought forward will affect offices beyond Global Engagement. Having broad-based feedback will be crucial to ensuring the final plan is fully achievable. This initiative aligns with a more comprehensive strategic planning process being led by President Sarah Mangelsdorf, which will guide the future path of the university.
Faculty and staff: To ensure tuition reimbursement, proof of tuition cost, proof of payment, and proof of successful course completion must be received by the Office of Total Rewards no later than 90 days following course completion. For more information, visit the Tuition Benefits website.
