Seminar on anti-racist curriculum development in higher education
Warner School of Education Associate ProfessorNancy Ares offers two anti-racist curriculum development seminars for University faculty and instructors this fall. The online, synchronous courses will meet on Saturdays from September through November. Through the two courses, EDE490a–Faculty Development Topics: Anti-Racist Curriculum Development in Higher Education and EDE490b–Faculty Development Topics: Advanced Anti-Racist Curriculum Development in Higher Education, participants will gain knowledge and skills to create an anti-racist curriculum through revision of an existing course syllabus, as well as through discussions and selected readings. The advanced course is open to those who’ve completed the first course. The Warner School provides a tuition award to cover costs above employee tuition benefits coverage.Contact Nancy Ares for registration information.

Attend the annual Toxicology Training Program retreat on Thursday, May 25. Suzanne Fitzpatrick, senior advisor for toxicology at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition at the FDA, will deliver the keynote lecture, “Advancing Regulatory Science at FDA: New Approach Methodologies,” from 11 a.m. to noon in the Adolph Lower Auditorium (1-7619), Medical Center.
