New technique may help achieve mass production fusion energy
Researchers at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics including Igor Igumenshchev, a senior scientist, and Valeri Goncharov, a distinguished scientist and theory division director and an assistant professor of research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, have, for the first time, experimentally demonstrated a method called dynamic shell formation, which may help achieve the goal of creating a fusion power plant.

Drop-in counseling group today on racism and attacks on affirmative action
The University Counseling Center is offering a virtual drop-in group today, July 11, at 3 p.m. for students to join a facilitated space to discuss the recent US Supreme Court decision barring the use of race in college admissions and the ongoing impacts on students of color.

Virtual cooking class with the Latin Alumni Network
Join chef Paola “Morena” Muciño of Morena’s Taste and the Latin Alumni Network on Wednesday, July 12, for a virtual evening of conversation, guided cooking demonstration, and connecting over a shared meal.
