University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Thursday, October 10, for Jovitas Skucas, a professor emeritus of imaging sciences, who died on August 31. Skucas joined the University faculty in 1973.
University Health Service (UHS) is currently experiencing a primary care provider shortage, with students experiencing a longer than usual wait time for appointments. UHS is exploring options to remedy the shortage and appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding. Visit the UHS website for guidance and self-care options, or call (585) 275-2662 to speak with a nurse or after-hours on-call provider for urgent care issues. Students are also asked to cancel 24 hours in advance any scheduled appointments that are no longer necessary. UHS strives to provide high-quality care and refers patients to urgent care centers and the emergency department as needed.
