Megan Ryan named assistant vice provost for enrollment
Following a national search, Megan Ryan has been appointed assistant vice provost for enrollment, beginning July 30. Ryan will oversee undergraduate recruitment and admissions for the School of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, bringing extensive experience in enrollment management and a commitment to student success.

Glial replacement therapy slows Huntington’s disease in adult mice
New Rochester research led by Steve Goldman, the URMC Distinguished Professor in Neuroscience, Dean Zutes Chair in Biology of the Aging Brain, and codirector of the Center for Translational Neuromedicine, shows that transplanting healthy human glial progenitor cells into the brains of adult animal models of Huntington’s disease not only slowed motor and cognitive decline but also extended lifespan.
Help shape the future of higher ed assessments in the age of AI
Contribute to a multi-country research initiative, Evaluating the Impact of Generative AI on the Sustainability of Assessments in Higher Education, led by faculty from the Warner School of Education and Human Development. This project explores how generative AI tools like ChatGPT may challenge or strengthen the integrity of existing postsecondary assessments. Researchers are currently collecting a broad range of authentic assessment samples (tests, quizzes, written assignments, reports, and other writing-based activities) from undergraduate and graduate courses across multiple institutions.
