Apply for the 2026 University Research Awards |
The request for proposals and online application for the 2026 University Research Awards will be available on Thursday, November 13. The awards provide seed money to enable the development of new, innovative research projects with a high probability of attracting external support in the short term, and further stimulating the research of faculty who have moved beyond research support provided by the University as part of their initial start-up period.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 30. Additional details on matching funds, eligibility, the application and review processes, the link to apply on InfoReady, and post-award follow-up requirements will be available here.

America Recycles Day landfill tour |
The Sustainability Office hosts a visit to Waste Management’s High Acres Landfill in Fairport, where much of the University’s waste and all of its compost is received, on Friday, November 14. Learn how landfill operations work with the environment in mind and how methane from waste is converted to energy, observe the composting process, and meet their unique workforce of falcons that help control the seagull population. Transportation is available.
