The University has again earned the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement from the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, recognizing the University’s institutional commitment and excellence in community engagement.

University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department, and the flags atop the Eastman Theatre at the corner of Gibbs and Main Streets, will be lowered on Thursday, February 12, for Michael Mathieson, an advanced practice provider in the Emergency Department, who died on January 6. Mathieson joined the University in 2014 and then again in 2023.

Comedian Ilana Glazer will headline this year’s Winterfest Weekend stand-up comedy event at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 30, at Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre.
