Michelle Janelsins-Benton, Joan and Gary Morrow Endowed Distinguished Professor of Supportive Care in Cancer

Each week, HR shines a spotlight on a faculty or staff member who has been recognized as a UR Star. Michelle Janelsins-Benton, the Joan and Gary Morrow Endowed Distinguished Professor of Supportive Care in Cancer, was recognized for demonstrating compassion.

“I want to thank Michelle for her incredible mentorship and compassionate leadership on our recent JNCI Cancer Spectrum publication, and Longitudinal assessment of cognitive function in patients with breast cancer and lymphoma receiving chemotherapies. She consistently provided thoughtful scientific input, detailed and constructive feedback on every draft, and calm, steady support during tight deadlines and revisions. Her advocacy for my growth and independence, inviting me to take the lead on this project, encouraging my ideas, and recognizing my contributions, has made a tremendous difference in my development as an early-career faculty member. I feel very fortunate to learn from her, to work with her, and to have her support as I grow in my career.”
