The policy outlines expectations for program approval, registration, participant safety, supervision, background checks, and required training, ensuring consistent standards across all University-sponsored and hosted activities. A resource page with additional details and frequently asked questions is also available. This student project, a short documentary in collaboration with the Italian community in Rochester, explores the experiences of Italians who settled here in earlier generations and those who have arrived more recently. On Friday, May 1, the Eastman-Rochester Chorus and the Eastman Philharmonia will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s choral masterpiece Elijah at 7:30 p.m. in Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre. The performance is free and open to the public.

The next public health grand rounds session will provide an overview of the National Diabetes Prevention Program’s lifestyle change program from the national perspective, as well as its implementation and impact across New York State and locally. The Center for Community Engagement is partnering with Partners for Campus-Community Engagement and the Rochester Urban League to host its second annual community-engaged learning summit on May 8 at Staybridge Suites, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register ASAP, as the event will be capped at 100 participants.

Undergraduate students in the School of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences can attend Write-A-Thon, where the Writing Fellows will be available for 12 straight hours, from 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, to 2 a.m. Monday, April 27, in Rush Rhees Library, Room G-122. And, they can drop it at any time during Night to Write on Monday, April 27, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Hawkins-Carlson Room, Rush Rhees Library.

The annual Gollin Film Festival on Monday, April 27, allows URochester undergraduates to gain recognition, see their films on the big screen, and win cash prizes. Ten student films will be shown, followed by an awards ceremony and catered reception.
