A new National Institutes of Health grant will support research led by Ruchira Singh, a dean’s professor of ophthalmology, to develop a more precise treatment approach to age-related macular degeneration that could help slow or prevent the damage that leads to blindness.

Day of Giving is a 24-hour campaign that brings the URochester community together to support students, advance healthcare, fuel research, and spark creativity across the University and academic health system. The spring student employment supervisor series concludes with the supervisor summit on Thursday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Feldman Ballroom. This workshop is a hands-on opportunity to connect with other student supervisors. Guest speakers will guide learning on job descriptions, difficult conversations, writing learning outcomes, and more. Advance registration is required.

The Common Market, on the first floor of Wilson Commons, is closing permanently at the end of this semester, with the last day of operations on Monday, May 4. Box office operations will continue in a new format. Surprise sales will start this week and continue through May 4.

Hosts offer support by taking pictures and videos and attending a department ceremony on Friday, May 15, Saturday, May 16, or Sunday, May 17.

The sixth annual Western New York and Finger Lakes Nursing Research Symposium, a collaboration between Wilmot Cancer Institute and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, is slated for Friday, September 25.
