{"id":26272,"date":"2020-06-17T15:07:41","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T19:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/coronavirus-update\/?p=26272"},"modified":"2022-02-10T14:39:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T19:39:00","slug":"a-jump-start-on-fall-student-dining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/coronavirus-update\/a-jump-start-on-fall-student-dining\/","title":{"rendered":"A jump start on planning for Rochester fall student dining"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans are underway to ensure a safe dining experience for a potential fall reopening of campus.<\/p>\n<p>Dining Services has remained open for take-out only for those who were unable to leave campus in the spring. As a result, many modifications to the dining process have already been made, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full sanitizing and disinfecting of food contact surface areas, serving areas, etc., at a minimum of every hour and before and after each service time<\/li>\n<li>Face masks worn by all managers and employees at all times<\/li>\n<li>Required health checks for all dining staff members at the beginning of all shifts<\/li>\n<li>Hand sanitizer dispensers available to guests in all locations<\/li>\n<li>Removal of self-service for food and drink; beverage dispensers turned off and all beverages switched to canned and bottled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these changes, there are other measures being evaluated by Dining Services to ensure the safety of staff and students. These proposed changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revised queuing and seating charts to allow social distancing protocols to be enforced<\/li>\n<li>Increased Grab &amp; Go options<\/li>\n<li>Additional food pick-up options through GrubHub, including remote ordering for Danforth, Douglass, and Hillside Market<\/li>\n<li>Location breaks throughout the day for extra cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces and touchpoints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A fall reopening schedule was recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/coronavirus-update\/update-from-provost-rob-clark-on-fall-planning-efforts\/\">proposed by Provost Rob Clark<\/a>, but is subject to approval by the NYS Governor.
