{"id":44202,"date":"2020-08-22T13:00:41","date_gmt":"2020-08-22T17:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/coronavirus-update\/?p=44202"},"modified":"2022-02-10T14:43:28","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T19:43:28","slug":"quarantine-no-longer-required-for-students-arriving-from-international-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/coronavirus-update\/quarantine-no-longer-required-for-students-arriving-from-international-locations\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated: Quarantine requirements for students, faculty, staff arriving from international locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><em>October 5: This message was updated to include new information.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Effective September 28, in accordance with <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.health.ny.gov\/covid-19-travel-advisory\">New York State Department of Health guidance<\/a>, there is a change to the quarantine guidance for all University students, faculty, and staff arriving in Rochester from an international location. Individuals arriving to New York state from Level 2 or Level 3 countries need to complete a 14 day quarantine; international travelers from Level 1 countries do not have to satisfy this quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving residential undergraduate students who are impacted by this requirement have been messaged, and the offices of Residential Life and International Student Engagement are working to assist them with their quarantine options. Students needing to quarantine can sign up via a form on the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScZD5oAtcPY28ezTu590AZO37V13tj0kn_5xfvLj9w14deeAA\/viewform\">Residential Life website<\/a>. Graduate students and off-campus undergraduate students are able to fulfill this requirement by quarantining in their on-campus apartments or off-campus residence, as living situations allow.<\/p>\n<p>The options also exist to quarantine for 14 days in any state not on New York state\u2019s current \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.health.ny.gov\/covid-19-travel-advisory\">restricted\/hot spot<\/a>\u201d list; not travel to campus and study remotely until the New York state quarantine requirement is removed; or quarantine in the Hyatt Regency Rochester.
