Exhibitions this fall at the Memorial Art Gallery will offer visitors a chance to view the brushstrokes of the masters as well as the creations of up-and-coming artists.

The 59th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition, which continues through October 5, showcases the works of 31 contemporary artists selected as winners of one of the area's most prestigious juried shows. On view are 40 works that include scuplture, painting, earthenware, and mixed-media creations.

Catch a glimpse of some rarely seen works by legendary greats including Renoir, Picasso, Chagall, and Magritte in Modern European Masters: From Corot to Kandinsky.

Opening October 26, the exhibition includes more than 50 works by European masters.

Given in trust to the University, the Memorial Art Gallery is one of the few university-affiliated art museums in the country that also serve as a community art museum. The gallery's permanent collection of more than 10,000 objects has been called the best balanced in the state outside of metropolitan New York City. In addition to its collection, the gallery offers a year-round schedule of temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, tours, and activities.
