Certificate course teaches patient safety

The faculty of the Division of Healthcare Management in the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine is offering a free “mini” certificate course for health care professionals, trainees, and students. The 10-session program offers information on how to improve safety as well as the latest thinking on patient safety. Sessions begin Thursday, Feb. 3.

Nominations open for Student Life Awards

Nominations for this year’s Student Life Awards are open until Monday, Jan. 24, at noon. Undergraduates in the College and at the Eastman School are eligible.

The awards recognize students who, through service to others, investment of talent and time, and pursuit of excellence, have significantly and positively impacted the University or surrounding community. Nominations can be submitted online at Contact Joanne King in the Office of the Dean of Students at 275-4085 with any questions.

Young Leaders group kicks off Leadership Speaker Series

Arunas Chesonis ’91S (MBA), chairman and chief executive officer of PAETEC, will give a talk at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, in Gleason Hall 318/418, as part of a new speaker series launched by Young Leaders @ the University. The talk is presented in conjunction with the Simon School. Open to the University community; seating is limited.
