Talk examines history of science, scholarship

Anthony Grafton

Anthony Grafton, Henry Putnam University Professor of History at Princeton University, discusses “Maps of Time: Science, Scholarship and History in Early Modern Europe” to a large crowd in Rush Rhees Library as part of the inaugural Ferrari Humanities Symposia. In addition to the lecture, Grafton—a specialist in the cultural history of the European Renaissance, the history of the book and of reading, the history of education in the west, and the history of science from antiquity to the Renaissance—also met with several student groups during his three-day visit.
