Bruce Bashwiner named associate vice president for Facilities and Services

Bruce BashwinerBruce Bashwiner has been named associate vice president for University Facilities and Services. He succeeds Richard Pifer, who retired after nearly 15 years at the University.

Bashwiner has more than 20 years of experience in academic, health care and corporate facilities and infrastructure management. He joins the University from the Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN), a private, not-for-profit health care system with five primary campuses and multiple outpatient centers. Since 2004, he has served as network vice president of facilities and services at EHN in Philadelphia, with responsibilities for 5.5 million square-feet of facilities and more than 800 employees.

Before joining EHN, he was division vice president at Crothall Facilities Management, responsible for overseeing plant operations, maintenance, construction project management, safety management, and clinical engineering management for 42 health care, institutional and industrial facilities.

Facilities and Services encompasses the River Campus, Medical Center, Eastman School of Music, the Memorial Art Gallery and other properties totaling more than 12 million gross square feet of the University’s multisite campus. Its units include Central Utilities and Energy Management; Environmental Services; Mail Services; Facilities Operations; and Parking and Transportation.
