Ron Goettler named senior associate dean for faculty and research at Simon

Ron GoettlerRon Goettler, the James N. Doyle, Sr. Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Simon Business School, has been named the school’s senior associate dean for faculty and research, succeeding Rajiv Dewan. Goettler will continue to teach and to serve on several faculty committees, including the promotion and tenure committee, the faculty curriculum committee, and the faculty policy committee.

Goettler joined Simon in 2012 and is an award-winning teacher and researcher. His research and teaching cover quantitative marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, and finance. He received his PhD from Yale University in 1999, and subsequently spent time at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Chicago.

An active member of Simon’s Entrepreneurship group, Goettler taught an entrepreneurship course covering economics, marketing, and strategy in the technical entrepreneurship and management (TEAM) program; an entrepreneurship finance course for MBA and MS in finance students; and a marketing course for MS in management students in New York City. He also serves on the board of directors for the Simon School Venture Capital Fund and plays an active role in helping the student teams in assessing investment prospects.
