The annual Celebration of Authorship, now in its seventh year, is planned for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Hawkins-Carlson Room of Rush Rhees Library.

Hosted by Provost Peter Lennie, the event features printed and electronic books, edited volumes, and texts, as well as published compositions and recordings, all produced by University faculty and staff, and from all fields.

Individual authors and artists will tell personal stories about what motivated or inspired their project, the inspiration for their work, or the muse who’s deserving of credit for the work. Each of the presentations is limited to two minutes.

Authors of works published or recorded between May 1, 2013, and Oct. 31, 2014, and who wish to be included in the event are encouraged to contact the provost’s office at

Honorees may be members of the tenured, tenure-track, clinical, adjunct, or part-time faculty, or staff. Book copies will be available for sale.
