Phase 1 of the University’s new electrical substation on Kendrick Road was completed this spring. In partnership with
Rochester Gas & Electric, the $40 million state-of-the-art facility was built to provide power to the Medical Center, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, the River Campus, and other campus buildings in the area. It was constructed with an eye to the future—the substation will handle the University’s anticipated power needs for the next 50 years.
