Tynelle Stewart is the new director and assistant dean of the Education Abroad program.

“Tynelle brings energy, enthusiasm, and experience to this highly important position,” says Richard Feldman, dean of the College. “She is innovative, focused, and eager to build on the strengths of the program to continue growing global opportunities for our students.”

Stewart, a Rush-Henrietta and Rochester Institute of Technology graduate, had been RIT’s director of study abroad and fellowships since 2007. In that role, she increased student participation 32 percent over the past five years.

“I am so excited to be joining the University of Rochester, a globally-ranked research university which prioritizes international engagement,” says Stewart. “I look forward to working with the Education Abroad team, faculty, students, and the University community to enhance already successful global education programs.”

She replaces Jacqueline Levine, the long-term leader of Education Abroad (formerly known as Study Abroad), who has taken on a new role within the College working with Advancement, focusing in particular on alumni who have studied abroad.
