Mack Montague ’17 hit a game-winning three-point shot in overtime to carry the Yellowjackets basketball team to a 77-76 victory over the University of Chicago on February 6. A video of the play, which was initiated by an intentionally missed free throw by teammate Sam Borst-Smith ’17, was featured as a top play on ESPN’s SportsCenter and featured in media outlets across the country. Faculty Notes

April Luehmann, associate professor and director of the science teacher education program at the Warner School of Education will be honored this month by the Rochester Museum and Science Center for making a difference and teaching the community about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Luehmann is one of five Leadership Award finalists at the university level.

Mark Zupan, the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics and Public Policy and former dean of Simon Business School, has been appointed the 14th president of Alfred University. Zupan succeeds Charles Edmondson, who is retiring after serving as president since 2000.
