We hope you’ll join us for an enchanting soiree, where intrigue and glamour await behind closed doors. You will be granted access to the 2025 Toast To Your Health Wine Auction, hosted by Danny and Paula Wegman. Step into an evening of elegance, featuring notable wines from around the world, gourmet cuisine, and an exhilarating live auction that will surely have you at the edge of your seat.
Funds raised at the 2025 Toast to Your Health Wine Auction will support the Transplant Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Organ transplantation provides a second chance at life for patients with end-stage organ failure and some untreatable cancers. Thanks to the UR Medicine Transplant Institute, our Rochester community has access to world-class care in kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants close to home. As the only liver transplant program in Upstate New York, we have also developed the only live donor liver transplant program in our region.
URMC’s transplant oncology program provides patients with results that are among the best in the nation. We are one of only a handful of centers that perform specialized procedures utilizing unique and non-invasive techniques. Due to the Transplant Institute’s innovative approach at the intersection of transplant surgery and cancer treatment, patients are coming to Rochester from other top institutions around the country to get expert care from our team.
With your help we will:
Save more lives. Seventeen patients die each day in the United States because there are not enough available organs. Your support will help us secure cutting-edge technology for organ perfusion. This state-of-the-art technology improves the quality of livers from deceased donors and increases the number of organs we can safely transplant. Your support will also fund patient clinical navigators who create a seamless care pathway for patients—from evaluation and surgery to long-term, post-transplant recovery.
Support patients and families. Transplant patients often face overwhelming medical expenses, lifelong medication costs, and the financial strain of lost income. When a patient needs help with transportation or ensuring that their living arrangements are set up to support their needs during recovery, the Patient Care Fund steps in. Your support provides critical financial relief, so that no patient must choose between life-saving care and financial stability.
Make Rochester the global hub for innovative transplantation. We are positioning URMC on the map as the preferred location for national and international patients who require liver transplant after a cancer diagnosis. By providing a permanent source of funding for research, clinical trials, state-of-the-art facilities, and advanced technologies, we will also be positioned to recruit and train the next generation of transplant leaders, and make our community a destination for global conferences, symposiums, and workshops.
Fund an endowed directorship/professorships. Endowed faculty positions elevate our institutional reputation, honor existing exceptional faculty, and aid in the recruitment of highly sought-after leaders in the field. When we bring the best and brightest here, we can develop a continuous stream of leaders for the future of transplant care.
