Foreign Languages
Rochester offers programs in 18 different foreign languages. Housed in Arts & Sciences, these courses are open to students, faculty, and staff from all schools and divisions within the University.
Professional Development
The Greene Center provides career education services and support to international students including exploration, advising and professional development opportunities as well as resources to craft strategies and understand employment and graduate school options. Some of those resources include CPT authorization through CASC 394i: Special Internship, tools like Interstride and Handshake to help find and land job and internship opportunities with international student-friendly employers, networking and interview preparation, and funding to help make internships and other professional development opportunities possible.

ISO provides services and resources to international students, scholars, employees, and other visitors to the University, as well as departments that host and support them. It issues visa documents, advises on immigration matters, and helps meet U.S. reporting requirements.
By the time they graduate, nearly one-third of our undergraduate students have studied abroad—double the national average. Whether it’s for a few weeks, a semester, or a full year, students can find the international experience best for them. Studying, researching, interning, and/or volunteering abroad is an integral part of the University of Rochester undergraduate curriculum. It offers a transformative experience that not only enhances academic and professional skills but also broadens perspectives and enriches the lives of our students and the UR community.
